Sprites, backgrounds, sounds, etc. are always in high demand. On this page you will find some resource packs created by people. The responsibility for the contents rests with the creators. They all come in the form of a zip file.

These resource packs can be used with any version of Game Maker.

The first resource pack contains a large number of different sprites, sounds, and background that can be used in may different games.

Resource pack 1 (zip-file, 1.2 MB)

The second resource pack was created/collected by True Predator.

Resource pack 2 (zip-file, 1.9 MB)

The third resource pack contains a large number of different sprites, in particular a number by Primalmania, and some midi sounds.

Resource pack 3 (zip-file, 1.4 MB)

The fourth resource pack contains a large number of different sprites, background, icons, and loading images, all created by Morphosis.

Resource pack 4 (zip-file, 1.5 MB)

The fifth resource pack contains over 16 Game ID Packs, each consisting of Game Loaders, Highscore Screens, and Icons, all created by Morphosis.

Using a search engine and typing some words like sprite(s), tileset(s), animation(s) or background(s) will also give may interesting links. Please note that many of the resources stored on these sites are copyrighted. So you cannot use them in games you distribute. Ari Feldman's SpriteLib - Here you can download the free SpriteLib GPL written by Ari Feldman with many wonderful sprites.

Molotov.Nu - A page with many different sprite resources, e.g. the famous tile sets by Hermann Hillmann.

Reiner's TileSets - A site with a huge number of beautiful tilesets and animated characters. And they are free.

Tile Set maker version 2.0 - Program written by Kostas Zervos to create tile sets for Game Maker.

The GIMP - A powerful and free graphic editor, that accepts photoshop filter.

Paint.net - A free graphic editor for windows XP.

Project Dogwaffle - A free paint and animation tool.

Audacity - Open source wav and mp3 sound editor.

the JAZZ MIDI sequencer - Free program to create midi files.

Anvil Studio - Another free program to create midi files.

Install Creator - A program to create installers for your games. It is rather advanced and looks more modern. The only disadvantage is that the free version shows an advertisement screen at the end of the installation.
